Parking Sensors

Just fitted some parking sensors to the front and rear of my disco, (for our lasses benefit - honest!), what i would like to do before i build the boot back up, is put in a relay possibly, so that Basically they kick in off the feed from the reverse lights, so was wondering if i could put a normally closed relay in which opens when the caravan is drawing current on either the charging circuit or the fridge circuit, are their any experts who could give me advice?

You need a relay from Maplins etc.

I have a switch in a dashboard blank so that I can switch the reversing sensors off manually
Hello John, I've just got a Mondeo with reversing sensors fitted. Now I wouldn't call myself an expert but I can normally reverse onto a pitch in a couple of go's but the continuous reversing tone does get a tad annoying.

I'm not an electrician but do understand the principles of electrics - surely all you need to do is break the feed to the warning beeper which could be done through a dash monted switch. What do you think? and why do you need a relay?

I would use a timer such as a 555 timer as a monostable circuit. I press a button and the circuit disconnects for a time set and it automatically reconnects at the end of the time perion.
