I am thinking of buying a 2004 model Passat Estate 1.9tdi 130 BHP for pulling a Bailey Pageant Monarch 1258kg. Has anyone had any experience of towing with this estate or would I be better off getting a saloon car.

I had a saloon and an estate, both great, but the estate was better for towing. It seemed more suited for some reason and the convenience of the extra luggage space was great. I towed a 2003 Bailey Senator Arizona with it. Very stable and ample power so you would have no problems.
