Thank you that clarifies the position. If they can achieve better quality by overseas manufacturing that will benefit future customers, competitor to Adria and Coachman perhaps. I hope their support to existing customers matches their words. Time will tell. But it’s sad it has had to come to this.

I thought one of the reasons British car companies were taken over, or failed, was because so many of their models were of poor quality. Hence the inroads of the Japanese into the car industry and motorcycle industry, and European ones too. But their reliability wasn’t always top notch when compared to Japanese and latterly Korean makes.
Singer,MG,Riley,Wolseley,Sunbeam,Humber, Rover etc etc.I wouldn't class these as poor quality, quite the opposite until "merged".

TIC I suspect the rising costs to Elddis of employer /employee ,energy, rates proved a burden too far. A very sad day for British manufacturing.

I know it’s not necessarily representative, but of all the makes discussed on the Forum, Elddis quality did seem to get proportionately more criticism, plus their customer support on warranty issues didn’t come across as good either. Perhaps the threat of offering better quality caravans, hopefully at attractive prices, with good customer support, might spur on the other companies too.

I currently don't have access to my usual industry contacts having been incase rated in the QEHB since the middle of January, but if I get a sniff that isn't commercially sensitive, I'll let you all know
Sorry to hear you are still a guest at QEHB. Hope they don’t increase your daily rent🤪. Hopefully back home soon👍

It is never nice to learn of job losses, or the assumption of a well know brand name into a bigger organisation resulting in major restructuring. However this is normal characteristic of commercial enterprise, and whilst it's tumoltous now, UK history shows how most communities do move on often to better times.

But what about the Elddis issue from a different perspective, the UK buying public. I and others on this forum have long been advocating the view that the UK caravan industry needs to face up to the reality it is not performing well enough in terms design, materials, and construction for its ultimate customers. Poor quality control allows inconsistent production leading to far too many faults reaching the end user, and often unreasonable delays and obstacles in getting manufacturing faults put right.

As customers we have become so used to these imperfect products are expectations have been lowered and we don't ensure manufacturers are held to account for these failings. But perhaps Elddis are seeing the consequences of customer dissatisfaction.

Perhaps this might be the kick up the backside the UK industry needs to remind the manufacturers that ultimately they need to seek to satisfy their end users better before lining share holder pockets.
