any comments on these please, we tried an ordinary awning, but almost had a falling out over it, so have ditched it. thinking of getting one of these instead. cheers folks

Hi , if you use the forum search facility above you will find plenty on these awnings.

I could sum it up in one word having previously owned one that is DON'T !!

Hi

We have been through 3 PDQ awnings and now use the sunncamp. Lots of info in the search facility as Jasper said.

thanks guys, after looking at the other posts we have decided not to buy 1. thanks for saving us some money!!

hi in reply to your coments on pdq awnings, dont bother the bag lets in water so that when you unzip it you get soaked this means the awning is also wet, they let the rain in,the awning rips from the bag and if its windy the bag bangs against the side of your van and damages it.pyramid wont refund me because we havent got any proof of purchase, which i understand, but when i spoke to dan at pyramid he offered to repair it for me so that i could at least sell it on but now they wont do that.i am now going to claim for the damage to our 12 month old van, pity i would have been happy for them to repair the awning.we bought a porch awning from discover in delamere,it cost

Hi Dippy,my advice is dont.We bought one in July,it's in ripstop nylon, nice and light weight, easy to put up and is great to keep the wind from your door. BUT,it does not fit well to the side of the van,it leaks like a collander!!! I made the mistake on our first night to leave various bits and pieces (like we all do) including a small toolbox and a small battery charger for my remote controlled car.It rained overnight and when I opened the van door I saw all was soaked and the anwing carpet was too,my charger was in a puddle on the table, our chairs were wet through.

So we got rid asap ! and bought a decent one. So my advice is stay clear.

I had one. It was a disaster.Water collected on the roof panels,It ripped very easily. Non stainless fittings rusted and marked the fabric. The concept of a PDQ is good but it was let down by the materials used and some design problems. All in all not my best purchase have now gone back to a standard style of awning
