Hi

I have been browsing the net as I need to buy some gound pegs for hard standing.

I came across a site which sells :

Rock Pegs

Hard Ground Pegs

The description on each item was the same, 'suitable for hard standings or other hard surfaces'.

Question: Which one do you think would be best?

Lisa......I think they are most probably both ok. I don't know why they call them rock pegs because they won't go into rock? However, the caravan club call them rock pegs and I bought mine from a site reception the first time I used a hard standing pitch.

I think they were 20p each but that was about 6 years ago. I find these to be fine for most hard ground pitches.

For grass pitches I use the plastic screw in pegs, (Wormi) These attach to a drill, I find these hold into soft ground better.

lisa have a look on the towsure site. the best pegs you need for the broadway site in my opinion are the pegs (not plaqstic) that you need an attatchment on your drill. towsure sell the pegs and the drill piece but make sure you get the correct pegs.

Hi Lisa

We find the best pegs for hard standings are the steel ones with a cross piece an inch from the top. Towsure sell them as 'rock pegs'

Thanks for the replies, Ann, I seem to be following you around.

I've just looked on the Towsure website (I use them quite a bit), however, this was posted:

'Update 27th June 2007

Due to extreme heavy rainfall and burst riverbanks, both our sales and customer service call centres and our distribution centre are currently closed due to flooding.

Unfortunately, we are unable to answer any incoming telephone calls, nor track and call affected customers whose orders may be delayed.

We hope to be able to provide a skeleton service from Monday 2nd July (note this is dependant on weather conditions allowing drying of our premises) with regular service resumed shortly after

OUR SHEFFIELD SUPERSTORE IS ALSO CURRENTLY CLOSED

Our website is still available for ordering of non-urgent goods but please allow up to 14 working days for delivery'.

Hi Lisa

I have just looked at the website and found that the rock pegs are available. We are going to attempt to get to Towsure (Sheffield) this week and will let you know what the situation is with regard to the store closure. I would think by now that it would be up and working normally. All the floods seems to have subsided around that area. I will try to get back to you before we go away next Sunday.

Ann
