Has anyone out there towed with a Peugeot 206? On paper it looks OK to tow our 750kg (MTPL 1000kg) van with our 2.0 206 HDi, but what would it REALLY be like? Is it worth getting a tow bar?
 
No doubt the car will pull it with the HDi engine, I drive my wifes same 206 and no way would I want a van behind it. Sons friend towed a jet bike behind a 206 GTI and had side wind problems.

What caravan do you have?

I know of plenty Eriba owners who tow a Puck L or Familia (750kg - max 900kg) with a Peugeot Partner / Citroen Berlingo - that's about a 65% match, and one Eriba Puck owner who tows with a Toyota Yaris.

Your Peugeot 206 (about 1100kg ??) should be around a 70% match with your van - should be fine - and the 90bhp diesel engine should have no real trouble even in hilly areas.
