Peugeot 3008

Good evening new to the site, just wondering if anyone has or have had the peugeot 3008, 2ltrs Allure as a tow car.

It's one of the options I am looking to upgrade to, checked the weights etc and they are not a problem for my van just wondering what they are like overall.

Test drove and its a lovely car but just wanted to check etc.

Yeah I understand that but in general I haven't seen many of these vehicles used as a towcar so that in itself may answer my question as well.

That is very true.Ive also been looking at one of these but up to now ive not seen one with a van behind it.I expect them to be a reasonable tow car,i looked at the 163hp version towing 1300kg would be fine for me.

I downsized my tow car 18 months ago on retirement from a Vectra 1.9 150PS to an Astra 1.7 130PS. Although the Astra tows the 1210 kg van OK (similar to the 3008 review) I notice (and miss) the extra power the Vectra had. I had thought of changing the car at 3 years old to the 2.0 litre 150PS engine. However Vauxhall's new Astra out this month only has a biggest engine of 1.6 at about 130PS. I now have on order an Insignia 2.0 CDTi 170PS. Looking forward to the end of November. :woohoo:

Thankyou emowbray,the 1.6hdi looks powerful enough for me and my needs.As long as it can climb reasonable motorway gradients at 60 mph i,ll be more than happy.Im starting to think high hp is wastless,the present car is 240hp and that still drops gears on motorway climbs.It seems the higher the hp,the higher the gearing,defeats the object of the game.They seem very cheap,ive just viewed a 2year old model with 21k with an asking price of 9k.Not to be sniffed at.

They are really nice cars with lots of added extras etc, I am leaning towards one and they seem to fit the bill just for peace of mind wish i noticed more out there towing
