Peugeot 406 3.0 Auto Estate

Due to a change of job, the Company car has had to go, so we've bought a '98 406 Estate 3.0 Auto, which with a 210 BHP engine pulls our 1300kg van with ease. The only trouble is it needs an oil well to fuel it! Anybody else got one, and what sort of solo and towing mpg do you get? We're only getting about 30 mpg solo on a run, and only about 17mpg towing at a steady 60!! My last car was a diesel, so no doubt I've lost track of petrol mpg's.
 
Mike, if that's the same engine that was in the 605sve v6, mine got about 19mpg so I'd say you're doing extremely well.
