Peugeot 406 Electrical Problem

Hi All

I have an intermittant electrical problem with my 6 year old Peugeot 406. The battery keeps going flat after only a few days. I have tried a different (almost new) battery and check that all doors are closed, lights off etc etc. Sometimes it will go for a few weeks before it does it again, other times only a few days. It sounds like an earth leak somewhere but how the devil do I trace it. Any suggestions anyone ?

My son's previous 306 had a similar fault. He'd leave it at an airport for two weeks and flat battery.

In the end it turned out to be a peculiarity with the radio unit. By turning it off properly at the head reather than just letting it turn off via the ignition key solved it. Also some of the 306 range had voltage leakages via the alarm system. Try the radio trick first.
