hi hopefully someone can help!i have a citreon picasso,and it has a swan neck tow hitch fitted,is there any cycle racks/carriers,out there which can take three mountain bikes,i have seen racks fitted onto the rear of vans but am scared of drilling holes,i have a 94 eldiss typhoon 4birth,please help as im disabled and cant walk very far but can cyle a bit .
 
You can't fit a towbar carrier to a swan neck while towing. (There are some carriers which clamp onto the ball, but you obviously can't tow at the same time). If you carry 3 bikes on a flange towbar carrier, one would probably foul the van on corners.

Think about weight. The average bike weighs about 13kg. So 3 bikes plus the carrier will weigh up to 45kg. If your limit is 75kg (which is typical for many family cars) then you will have only 30kg for caravan noseweight. Even if you could achieve it, this is too light to be safe.

Best bet is to put them on the car roof.

your Picasso has an 80Kg tow hitch weight. Can I please ask why did you have a swan neck tow ball fitted? as we too have a Picasso but we have a conventional towbar, we were never asked about a swan neck one, they just fitted a usual one. Gary

sorry gary i aint got a clue why when purchased from the citreon dealer they fitted a swan neck,but i must look out for a conventional one,thanks/chris
