Places to visit??

Hello everyone
smiley-smile.gif
Our first family summer touring holiday is rapidly approaching . We are heading to Weymouth for the first week then onto Cornwall for the second. Has anyone got any favourite hot spots or approaching recommendations in these two area's? Especially Weymouth as I've never been before. I have two young boys aged 2 & 7 that will need places to burn off there energy

Your boys may be a bit young for this, but your 7 year old especially, may enjoy a visit to The Tank Museum at Bovington. It's an amazing big place, full of exhibits and displays, including a Tiger tank.
They have a good cafe and very clean facilites. You can find out much more on their website and it's somewhere you could always bear in mind for future trips, when they're a little older.
We've not been ourselves, but Monkey World may be an idea.
The visit Dorset website has lots of ideas for things to do when visiting with children and there is a website with ideas for days out in Dorset with children.

.....and it depends whereabouts in Cornwall you're heading to as far as attractions go....

Are you the Plymouth end or the Lizard end?

Many thanks for the reply i will have a little look on the websites now. As for Cornwall we going just past Newquay but looking at travelling around as much as possible.

The Eden Project is good - especially if you've got kids.

Newquay beach is brilliant but I don't care much for the town - seems to be full of Stag & Hen parties...!

Assuming it's not too late, Flambards is worth a visit - visit at the beginning of your week and take advantage of their free returns for 5 days.
