PLEASE HELP! Only one tap turns water pump on!

Can anyone please help? The only tap that turns my water pump on is the one in the bathroom. The tap in the kitchen has stopped working (it only works when the other tap is on). Can any please help?

Many thanks Libby

Libby,

You don't say, but it sounds like you have taps with built in electrical micro-switches, these switches activate the 12 volt submersible pump in the water container.

If this is the case, then the kitchen tap micro-switch has failed and needs replacing or cleaning. A simple job, but you need to remove the tap from the worktop to get to the micro-switch.

Hi rob_jax, thank you for your reply. I have narrowed it down to the micro-switch. Next question lol, do you know if i can buy these seperately or do I need to buy a new tap? Many thanks Libby

no just buy the micro switch that all you need, get a spare if you go abroad

Hi Libby

Before you start to take the taps to bits try gently tapping the base of the tap with a screwdriver blade or somethonh similar. I had this problem a few years ago and a caravan dealers workshop told me about this tip. Try it with the tap in both the on and off position and you may have to do it a few time befor it frees up the sticking microswitch.

Good luck
