Plug In System Alarm Issues (RF 100)

Hi folks, I am having issues with my alarm on my van which was fitted by the dealer when purchased new in 2007.
It was fitted with a Plug In Systems RF 100 with remote control and from the start we had issues and had it back to the dealer several times, but unfortunately the dealer is no longer there.

I have put in a new 12V battery in the actual alarm, put a new battery in the key fob but when I press the ‘learn’ button, it will not stay illuminated to allow me to pair the remote control to the main alarm system. :(

I have tested the battery charge by pressing the ‘Test’ button and it is blasting the alarm seven times indicating a full charge yet I am not able to pair the remote control. I have tried to un-pair the key fob but again the light will not stay illuminated to allow me to do this.

I have tried to contact Plug In System but it would appear they are no longer and I have had a conversation via email with expluginsteve who sadly wasn’t able to help.

If anyone can offer any help whatsoever, it would be very much appreciated as my insurance requires my alarm to be working.

Thanks in advance

Dougy

Plug-in Systems were Hull based (Willerby actually) but were taken over by Bonus Electrical also in Hull. You could try them.

I believe there are a couple of ex PIS guys who provide support and I suspect possibly read this forum.

Hi Woodentop
I have just had a look for Bonus Electrical In Willerby but it just looks like a commecrial supplier of electrical equipment such as washing machines and cookers and the likes so I am not sure if they will be able to help.

I can only hope that one of the guys from PIS does happen to look at this forum and is able to help but if anyone else can offer any assistance, it would be a huge help.

www.bonus-group.co.uk - still in the same premises as was CEC of which PIS was part.

For those that know the area they are behind Waitrose at Willerby.

Thanks Woodentop, I will give them a call tomorrow to see if they are able to offer any assistance.

Damian, I have already been in touch with Steve from www.expluginsteve.co.uk and unfortunately he left when they had just introduced this system so he does not have enough knowledge of it and unable to help, but thanks for the suggestion.

I have tried as much research as possible on my own so I thought I would ask on here in case anyone else had similar issues and for any suggestions to be honest.

Thanks

This pairing procedure is sometimes used in setting up garage door remotes with built in buttons in your car. In those system the items to be paired have to be very close to one another, as in almost touching. Maybe worth a try?

Hi Chris, thanks for the reply. I have tried what you suggested but the issue is that the 'learn' button light on the control box will not stay illuminated and I am not able to even try to pair them. I have tried holding the 'learn' button down to see if I could get it paired with no success
