Hello everyone

We have an Elddis Xplore 554. On site yesterday. Found that the bathroom tap doesn't have a water flow yet the shower does? the pipes for both run the same way with the sink tap pipes on a T junction before the shower. We can feel the hot pipe is getting warm when the tap is open but no water? could the pipe be blocked between the T junction to the tap? Why is there no water flow? Also on the board with the 'on 'off' switches for lights, water pump and heater the water pump switch light flickers when the water is being pumped in when before the light was lit permanently, is this normal?

What sort of tap is fitted to the basin? Do you have a pressure or micro switch system.

Chances are it‘s a mono block tap (single lever), and a pressure system, in which case you may have a faulty cartridge in the tap.

You could get a cartridge from an accessory shop, £15+.

Or, remove the old cartridge, easy job, look at YouTube. You should find a code number on it. Google, EBay, or Amazon for half the price.

The flashing light is probably a slightly badly adjusted pressure switch. Plenty of instruction for how to set this on line or in the instruction manual.

Welcome Irene, have a look at the tap , does it have a unscrewable end to it, most do, they get blocked up with "Crud" unscrew the tip clean and refit.

Hi, Many thanks for replying and the 'welcome', you were absolutely correct, such a relief it wasn't anything more serious, totally surprised it was limescale buildup as had the van for 2 years and regularly use limescale cleaner at the end of seasons, last time used van in 2020 before third lockdown and all was working fine! Every time out is a learning curve for us, there is always some little problem to be sorted!

Hi John, many thanks for replying. This tap is a mixer tap. Thankfully just after posting our problem a very helpful plumber came to offer advice, he just happened to be on site, what are the chances of that! Suggested unscrewing the tap end to check for limescale buildup, but why not try pricking a pin up the tap end first and well, success, it did allow some water through which then prompted the unscrewing of tap end to reveal a limescale buildup, loosened by the pin pricking a little, not a huge amount but enough to stop the water flow. We didn't have any tools but the helpful plumber, Steve, just happened to have the right equipment and quite rightly didn't want to actually physically do the job, for obvious reasons, but was happy to let us use his tools, total success, limescale washed away and tap water flowing freely. Flashing pump light resolved at same time? No idea what caused that, but as all working now we're happy campers again.

We have a cartridge in-line filter and especially when it has been replaced we seem to get bits of carbon in the tap filters. Glad you were sorted promptly and can use the washroom sink again!

Nearly every time we go away I check the taps, but forget to do the bathroom ones at home. They clog up as well.
