I always think the same when you get a new awning you wonder how they did it because a lot of times cannot it back in the same way but lucky we have some spare awning bags
 
I think it come down to what you want your awning for. We have a 3/4 awning carbon light( a carbon Fiber poled) one which we use in France, and an air awning one a a Sunncamp 220. These are both lightweight. As we don't sit i n them at night or afernoon, they are for just covering tables and chairs if the weather is bad. .
 
Actually my porch awning are for my two dogs in the daytime we take there Pet gear and they sit in it or fall asleep in the awning .
We also got two chairs in case we take the front out of the awning and read .
