Hope this link works. It is a police video of a stolen car. It looks like Burnham near Slough rather than Burnham on Crouch. Look out for the learner who is stopped under the bridge.

I suspect that the car thieves got a good kicking at some point ...

God, there's some barstewards on the roads. That poor police officer on the bike.

I think the thieves deserved a good hiding.

Yes, they definitely did deserve a good hiding. No doubt they tripped up a step in the cell block or something, and ended up with black eyes and bruising. Also probably bumped their heads as they got into the police van. That's life.

Well what do you say to that. If I was one of the police, I think I would have been heavy handed having seen one of my colleagues being smashed off his bike. The culprits deserve all they get, which usually, is all too little. Maybe a severe hoofing from the boys in blue will be more of a deterrant than 3 months. Hopefully, they had both.
