Pong!

We need your help! Someone left a Stilton-and-ham pie in the fridge of our Bailey Pegasus Ancona, with the door closed, for nearly a month and a half... As you might expect, it now smells very bad indeed. Group Editor Al has been getting his hands dirty as he tries to get rid of the cheesy aroma. What's your best method for de-ponging a caravan fridge?

Bicarbonate of Soda.
Dilute with water and liberally soak all surfaces including the seal.
Place a neat bicarb amount on a dish and leave in the fridge with the door ajar.
The near bicarb will absorb the smells.
May take a few days.
Suggest you provide the culprit with bucket and sponge and put him her on car washing duties 😛

I use a spray bottle with a strong solution of Milton sterilising fluid and spray the inside of the fridge & freezer box and all of the shelves and containers then I wipe down with pieces of clean kitchen roll rather than a towel, then leave a lemon cut in half on a plate to absorb any left over smells ....

Once left a box of fish cakes in the freezer compartment of the fridge for a month in the summer. 🤢 🤢 🤢 Bicarbonate of Soda worked best along with open windows and a strong stomach.

+1 You could say I'm almost a Stilton addict (living in it's home town) there is always a wedge in my fridge, Bicarbonate keeps it smelling fine, until I put the next wedge in. mouth's watering now. B) B)

It may be too late but when the caravan is not in use we leave the door wide open and if there is anything there it should be obvious. Not sure how you avoided it but if the door was closed then the whole fridge would be full of mold. Not being rude but I would not be talking to the culprit.
