We have been there many times the site and the toilet block is very clean and level and the wardens are friendly. There is a country park just outside the site gate's and there is a Morrisons about 2 miles down the road.

Thanks for the warning sprocket , looking at the map , it's not far from the site to
! Hopefully it's just the bottom bend , not the whole road

If you are travelling by the M1 leave at J29a (not 30 as more usual) turn right under the motorway and take the first exit. You will find it well signed from the traffic lights at the other end.

You will turn right, over the hill and right at the traffic lights at the bottom. Eventually pass under a metal railway brdige and take the next right half way up the rise. At the bottom facing the lake turn right and the entrance is a short distance on the right.

For those that don't know it and want a cheap eat-out, Morrison's in Staveley do two cooked meals for £9 including a drink after 16:00 every day. I can highly recommend their fish and chips - sorry - whale and chips. Go back to the lake and left up to the diversion road. At the top turn right, left at the lights, then right at the mini-island into Morrison's car park.

:)
