Hi Wendy , I can sympathise with the locker problems as my husband got a nasty cut on his scalp as the locker above the sink in our swift charisma closed without warning ,the corner of the door catching him . This was after a 3rd hinge was fitted at first service also new hinges fitted and the door had only been opened and closed around half a dozen times since. Our dealer confirms that Swift now supply a new uprated part as confirmed by Kath on our previous enquiry but they (dealers)could not see any difference. I suppose the hope is you either go away or the warranty period expires and you are left with the problem. Perhaps more telling is that the design changed after a couple of seasons incorporating what appears to be a wooden bar inserted and normal metal kitchen style hinges instead of the metal bar and plastic clamps that obviously are not up to the task on the larger locker doors.

Hi Gerard. We have had 3 sets of brackets fitted in total each being a new modified part each looking no different than the last. We also had the third bracket fitted and still no joy.

Your right about it being telling when they decided to change back to the old metal brackets. I would be happy for this type of bracket to be fitted but I cant see how this would be possible due to the design of the cupboards but I dont intend to just put up with it anymore as the brackets are now also coming away from the actual cupboard door because they've been changed that many times!! we'll have to wait and see what happens

Basically there should be no or very few posts condemning a dealer or manufactuere about the quality of their goods but with British caravan manufacturers they bring it on themselves due to poor quality inspections.

I can understand things going pear shape once a person starts using the caravan but for things to be wrong even before the caravan is used just beggars belief and demonstrate that the goods are not inpsected properly prior to despatch. Sometimes the fault is so glaringly obvious only a fool would miss it.

I think there is an attitude of "Lets wait and see if the customer complains" and then we may consider doing something about it. If a similar attitude prevailed in the car industry the manufacturer of that brand would be in serious financial trouble. Perhaps the only reason we buy British caravans is because we hope that we may get a good one and we do not want to be bothered with all the stress of buying an imported caravan.

Oh dear!

I go for a lovely night out and yet again SWIFT are at it, shooting themselves deeper in the foot than ever.

Let's get real here.

This is a very small forum compared to the numbers of SWIFT products sold.

However the failure rate is miles above the norm.

Why do all these SWIFT poduct purchasers suffer so much; a rhetorical question.

Come on Kath , surely you can do something to stop this incredulous debacle of "we don't care!!

I'll set Jo-anne on you?!?!?!

Oh yes, she will sort the cr@p here,

Cheers

Alan
