Porch Awning Across Window

I am currently looking at the possibility of purchasing a Ventura Marlin awning. There may be a problem as the awning will need to go accross the rear bedroom window (Ace Jubilee Aristocrat - nearside fixed bed).
Has anyone used come across this issue with the Ventura Marlin or Isabella Magnum awings and indeed is it a problem? I should welcome any advice.
Many thanks,

Yes; in time with wind movements the side pad will fret the window with micro scratches from air blown grit etc. So it depends if that is an issue to you or not. Removing the scatches is possible with appropriate acrylic safe polishes but it is hard work.
If the window is one that bulges out from the van side the pad fit will be compromised leaving a gap where wind can come through.
I have heard that cling film avoids the scratching but its use * is also known to cause chemical crazing of the acrylic. This is a much more serious and irreversable issue than scratching.
* [where it was once recommended under winter covers]
