Has anyone bought a "pop-up" style porch awning - any comments please.

Havent seen a pop up style awning before but can strongley recomend the senic porch awning from suncamp

it has three poles and takes about fifteen minuits to put up.

it has just enough space for a chair and your coats and boots ideal for weekend's and gives protection over the van door in bad weather

I'm interested myself. How do the sides seal against the caravan (cos' you're not in the channel) and is it really 15 mins to put up ?

The Scenic Porch awning fits into the awning channel along the top only (about 3 feet). The sides are simply pulled down against the van and pegged, so there is no seal as such, but it's not intended to be a luxury porch. It is extremely functional, we get two chairs and a small table into it, it's great for changing out of wet clothes, it hardly weighs anything and I can put it up in 7 minutes. We use a "proper" awning when we are staying for over 3 nights. Definitely recommended for walkers, dog-owners, etc for short stays.

Gill, Have just bought one of these awnings as a standbye to use until I can hype myself up to fit the main awning. The quality is exellent, is very easy to put up, (about 14.5 mins depending on how many pegs you want in)perhaps we should have a competition to see who can fit one quicker?,it fits quite close to the sides the upper part uses the awning rail,it is supplied in a small well made bag complete with extra pole sections,repair kit and bag of pegs.We will use it for those spring and autumn weekend trips when a bigger awning would create more problems drying out.Last weekend we only put in 6 pegs and guy pegs and had a horrendous night of rain and wind but this little awning did'nt budge.Thoroughly reccomend it.

Not easy to come by. Decided to go for one though. After lots of ringing around managed to get one (last one in their stock). Seems that most stockists will have them again round December time. What sort of pegs did you get - Rock or grass?

Fully agree with all the positive comments above concerning this awning - very quick n easy to put up, lightweight, good value, etc.

However, I would add that it is tricky to seal the side walls against the side of the 'van at times, put if it is well pegged, this does not present any problems.

Haven't had time to reply before now been away last weekend with work unfortunately and not out in van.

Have seen all good replies about the scenic only one problem with it that I know of and that is whether your van is old or new.

We had a 1994 craftsman miracle on which the sides of the porch didn't seal very well as the height of the van was lower, our new 2004 adria adora 352lt the scenic fits perfect.
