Port of Calais closed - P and O services suspended

Angry French fisherman have blockaded the port of Calais, and P and O ferry services have been suspended since 07.00 am this morning.

Sorry, the website message includes the telephone help-line (which is just that, a series of recorded messages - at the end of which you're given the number again to ring for further information!) I'd suggest ringing P and O on 08716 645 645 instead.

Apparently it's not just Calais, but Boulogne and Dunkerque also. It has been said that lorries are being given the option of using Eurotunnel, so anyone taking a ferry crossing in the next day or two needs to check with their ferry operator to find out the situation, and what options are available.

hi all, were off to france on saturday at 10 am , little bit worried , what do think the outcome will be , if we end up not going will we get owe money back , we booked throuht the caravan club using p&o ferries/camping cheques for the site , we paid using credit card.....pete

If it is not cleared by Friday can you ask them to transfer you onto the tunnel - may be wise to do asap as everyone might have the same idea. We are travelling Poole to Cherbourg and just hope it does not catch on down the coast.

my mam and dad were due to sail portsmouth- cherbourg this morning but are are being diverted to St Malo as cherbourg is closed.
