I manage my CMC unit quite happily single handed, its a bit of a faff, but doable. Its not really practical to involve two people anyway due to lack of manoeuvring room!
The "trick" is to fit the outside unit over the window cill from the inside first, and then slot the inside unit onto the brackets that are on the now already positioned outside half. It's a simple proccess and once you have done it a couple of times becomes second nature.
