I have a Powrtouch, and it is a really good mover, with after sales service which is excellent.

It is very easy to use, it was fitted at my home in about 3 hours.

Powrtouch is the market leader in movers, as they have the 5 Year Guarantee which is backed up by them having fitters in just about every location in the UK and abroad, so if you do have a problem, they can get a fitter to you usually very fast.

Almost all the other movers on the market are copies of Powrtouch, which shows just how good an invention it is.

Jo-anne,

Yes had one fitted to my Bailey Indiana prior to delivery, it's a doddle to use, idiot proof, even I can do it!.

I've not had the oportunity to use Powrtouch's customer service re the warranty, but they were great when I was enquireing about the product.

All the reviews on the forum were positive, so thats why I went for one.

I can honestly say that it's the BEST bit of kit I've ever bought for any caravan that I've owned, once you've used it you'll wonder how the hell you coped without it! I have a very arkward drive to reverse onto, but using the Powrtouch kits a breeze!

Yes they're expensive, but so is any other decent motor mover, if price is a real issue, talk to Powrtouch, they sometimes have reconditioned units that they can fit & guarantee as well.

No I don't work for them, but I can & do thoroughly endorse them.

Hello Damian,

The inventor of the caravan mover using the main wheels was Carver, now Truma. Other companies have taken the idea and made improvements.

Hi.

We have had a Powrtouch on our Hymer 1700kg van for 12 months and it is a superb piece of kit. I can certainly vouch for the after sales/warranty which is also superb.

When I broke one of the shear pins (self inflicted) they sent me out a number of spares by return of post for DIY fitting.

One of the motors seized up and when I said I was going away on holiday they said they would try and get a fitter the same day or if not they would arrange to have it fixed on site.

True to their word a fitter arrived about 3pm the same day and repaired the motor, said it was unusual for the motor to seize, however if it did it again they would replace it with a new one.

Pity caravan and car dealers don't offer the same excellent service as Powrtouch.

Regards

Nidge

Hi John.

On a recent visit to a caravan dealer we were talking about motor movers and he said that the chap who started Powrtouch was the designer for Carver.

He was very disillusioned! with carver and decided to go it alone hence the superb product he now provides.

Hi jo anne

We have Powrtouch on front wheels of Bailey Senator Wyoming, as others have said it has been a huge help.We can with practice get the van exactly where we want it, also it makes hitching up so much easier, you can bring the van to the car and see exactly where the tow ball is. We considered Rhyno(your other post) we went with Powrtouch because they matched our cheapest quote, and the Rhyno when we were looking could not be activated from one side, fitting was excellent, communication with the company was excellent, paid deposit, mover was delivered and fitted, paid the balance once we were satisfied.Hope this helps

We bought an older second hand van with one on it, it was wonderful, would have never made it up the drive without it, it had to be serviced, one of the pins broke, but they fixed it without a blink, it was worth the call charge, we are getting a newer van a lot heavier and one is being installed as we speak, wouldn't have a van without it, several of our friends have them now so am putting together a team of sycronized van moves, for site entertainment. Thanks for the advice about the gravel never thought of that or had the problem but will be aware.

hi keith thanks for that advise. i might just do that. they both have good write ups but as you said about the rhyno activating it from both sides not just the one but if your going to save a good chunk of money then its worth it.

did you go direct to power touch or through a dealer?.

thanks

Hi Jo anne

Sorry for the delay in replying, just back from Longleat for the week end, imagine Glastonbury without the music, on a grass pitch, mind you the mover did get the caravan out of the mud, anyway in answer to your question, Powrtouch matched the Rhyno quote and they included the cross actuation bar in the price and the fitting, hope this helps.

Hi jo-anne

Longleat is excellent site, only 10 miles from home for us,the site is right in the centre of the park, and all attractions are available on a Passport ticket which allows you to return as many times as you like to do the bits you may have missed, Safari Park is good, advise you to pay the extra and go on the bus, as monkeys will remove bits from your car.Back to the mover, Powrtouch agreed to match the Rhyno price over the phone, no proof required, although I did supply copy of the e mail from Rhyno that confirmed the price they had quoted.Just checked old chequebook, paid 500 deposit and 524 balance after fitting, this was last October so may have gone up by now,for heavy duty mover with cross actuation bar on front pair of wheels, direct from Powrtouch, fitted by local appointed fitter.

I have had a power touch mover 3 years only had one problem, I live near a large air base. the problem I en counted was during aircraft taking off and landing, if I was using the mover it would not respond, first time this was a bit scary, but soon over came the problem by leaving the locker door open were the main switch is, any hint of this happening I just turn the main switch off.and wait till it quietens down. Its a great peace of kit and would not be without it

Hi jo-anne

Wyoming has been excellent, our only problems, radio did not work on CD replaced FOC, one blind started to slide down on its own, dealer adjusted it at first service. Otherwise it has been just what we needed. Only seen pictures of new one, first impressions look good appears to be more open with the bed on the nearside, and the parallel front seats will suit a lot of people, not sure what has happened to the fridge, we have fridge /freezer, looks like the new one may be smaller. Have replied on the other post ref C Downs in August,we only have half a Staffie the other half is Labrador, but he won't be with us in August, saw your comments ref Broadway, going there for first time weekend of 7th July.

Valerie, I do not see any advantage in using e bay. The price direct from Powrwheel is the same and their agents fit it. I am not saying there is a problem with the sellers on ebay but their all in supply & fitting price is limited to 50 miles or so from their base whereas powrwheel is national.

I has one fitted recently direct from Powrwheel and there were no problems with delivery or fitting.

I found Powrtouch to be very good indeed. They advised a date for fitting and kept to it, they removed my old Carver mover (since reconditioned by me and for sale) at no charge and it does everything I ask of it. I changed to get the facility of the electric engagement of the rollers on to the van wheels to save me getting on my knees every time to engage the carver mover manually. Additionally, I got
