Has any one got the written instructions on how to fit the manual engagement conversion kit to a Series 1 Powrtouch mover? I've got the kit to fit on a friends 'van but there were no instructions included and I need to fit it urgently. I can't find anything on the Powrtouch website but maybe I'm looking in the wrong place. I've emailed Powrtouch but, obviously, won't get a reply till next week.

Not sure if this is the area of their website that might be of help.

Thanks, I've looked on there but can't find anything that deals with replacing the electronic actuation with the mechanical system - am I going blind? Or perhaps I should start with the original fitment instructions and figure it out myself!

My later version Powrtouch Evolution auto engage drives the rollers to the wheel on a worm drive, whereas an earlier manual version I had applied the rollers via a cam mechanism which traveled through 180 degrees. I don't think the two mechanisms are interchangeable. The fall back on the auto engage mechanism, if the electronics fail, is to use a T-bar socket on the end of the worm drive and rotate it about 20 turns, certainly not 'quick release' and very labour intensive.

Thanks Sprocket but I think this is the later system.

Woodlands - the kit I've got was supplied by Powrtouch and is designed to replace the electronic system with the mechanical one which is engaged using the cam mechanism. As it was supplied by Powrtouch it must be interchangeable - if only I can find instructions on how to do it!

I recently replaced the hex drives on a, friends series 3, and the instructions on the website, were not really the best, I had to go back to my engineering basics to finish the job, might be good if you have a local friendly caravan eng, to give you some tips. Good luck.

Does this help. Does the manual operation kit replace the gearbox on these instructions?

No, the kit includes springs, cams and the cross actuation shaft so the electronic actuators are completely removed.

Thanks Dusty, that would have been helpful but I managed to work it out myself.
