A big thank you to Powrtouch, who came to the rescue when the actuator on our mover wouldn't automatically release the driver from one of the caravan wheels, as we were preparing to leave for a weeks holiday.

We were lucky that Powrtouch Technical Dept. was manned on a Saturday morning and after a phone call to them explaining what had happened, they told us how to release it manually, enabling us to set off on our holiday as planned.

Having asked for the postcode of the site we were going to, they then arranged for a replacement part to be sent to one of their network of fitters, who came out to our CL and fitted the replacement part a few days later.

First Class service from a First Class company. Thank you!

Fully agree , other businesses could learn a lot from Power Touch. Are you referring to the bar which connects the 2 movers enabling them to be engaged from 1 side?

We removed it from our van after talking to one of their fitters. Whilst I know have to engage each side individually the motors are a lot easier to engage and it is surprising how much the bar weighed.

The offside 'spiked' roller, which engages onto the tyre and turns the wheel, didn't automatically disengage from the tyre, only the nearside roller did. Our mover has an actuator and usually the rollers both automatically engage on and release off the tyre simultaneously.

We had the same actuator fitted from new on our power touch. recently we had an engineer out to adjust the motors and he recommended removal of the actuator bar unless we were unable to access both movers. So as we can easily get to both movers we took his advice, the result is that the movers are much easier to engage (albeit you have to engage both separately) and it is surprising how much that actuator bar weighs.
