It is quite miss leading to say that you "will have to change you battery for a larger size" to use mover and that anything less than a 110Amp-hour [not 110 Amps] will be unsuitable for "more than a few seconds".

The torque from the mover and thus its strength has noting to do with the batteries capacity. A 75, 80 or 110 Amp-hour battery will produce exactly the same mover torque.

It is true that a 110 Amp-hour battery will continue to do this for longer than a smaller battery, but its all proportional.

If a 110 Amp-hour does in fact last for 45 minutes use then a 90 Amp-hour will last for 38 minutes. Most certainly not a few minutes.

Many of use need to be weight conscious and so there is absolutely no need to upgrade to a huge battery, unless there are special circumstances demanding a great deal of manoeuvring and or the inability to recharge afterwards.
Apologies I typed "seconds" rather than "minutes"

Well said JTQ,

It is highly unlikely that any of the available movers will draw more than the batteries max current capacity.

Equally the max current is only drawn for a fraction of a second just to get the motors turning over. after that the average draw is typically 7 to 14A, unless there is a steep incline of an obstruction that stalls the motors.

I estimate that most movers are only used for perhaps 5 mins or less to position the caravan, so the total current/power usage is (14A x 5)/60 = approx. 1.5Ah! All sizes of batteries should be able to cope with that

It would be interesting to know exactly how long the motors are actually used to position a caravan.

Hi all.

Just as Gary and Del have said after sales service by Powertouch is first class , had a intrmittant drive problem with my mover. Rang technical dept Mon am ,said as it was int problem they would dispatch new PCB board plus new remote controll parts arrived Tues am via TNT ,fitter rang pm to arrange fitting ,job done and finished Wed am . Thats service in my book .

Regards battery reqd to power a mover i was informed a 85amp hr battery in good condtion was quite adequate to do the job bearing in mind the amount of time it is driven. cheers all.
