Powrwheel motormover

After having my mover for 3 years now im concerned that it hasnt been serviced as this dose not come under the caravan service.

Can anyone tell me what I need to do to service the mover, Greese points ect.

Thanks in antisipation

Kevin, the service required on Powrtouch movers is minimal.

Give it a good clean to remove any accumulated dirt, including the rollers, then wipe it over with a cloth impregnated with a car polish.

Use motorcycle chain lube to lubricate the sliding shoe of each motor mount and the cams which operate the locking mechanism.

You should have been doing this at least every 6 months, depending on use.

Kevin, agree with Damian's advice. When you've done this, don't for get to check gap between roller and tyre and adjust if necessary. The Powrtouch book suggests - i think - 20mm, but this should be top and between 15 and 20 better.

Thanks guys, I have been cleaning it off every time I clean the van so no dirt accumilation but its the loobing which I was concerned about. Ill get right onto it when the van returns from its 1st service

The roller gap should be 20mm if its single axle. 15mm is definately too tight if you have a PowerBar. Use a piece of wood or similar 20mm thick. Make sure the rollers are fully disengaged by wiggling the end nut with your 19mm wrench. To adjust, just loosen the 4 u Bolt nuts and nudge the whole thing backwards or forwards - bit of trial and error required. The Stop Block will also need repositioning. Tighten all nuts to 30 lb ft using a torque wrench.

I have re-adjusted mine-but how the hell do you get a torque wrench in possition to set the torque on the bolts, get real!
