I have not been on one but those I have come across who have have been full of praise for them. There are different levels so you can opt for the one that is appropriate for your level of expertise.
OH did the day and a half course about 10 years ago. It had a different name but covered all the basics of hitching up, towing, manouvring and reversing. He would totally recommend it. He said that we both should have done it, as it taught how to signal to the driver when reversing to the tow hitch. He says I do it all wrong. I can only assume that they teach a hand signal for " you are going in completely the wrong direction, you idiot" ( I might already know that one )

Very hands on with your own vehicle. They gave her a very comprehensive book of all the techniques which impressed me.
