Pre Booking 2013 Holiday's

So how far in advance do you pre book?
We have decided to book the two main 7 day breaks in May and August.
Then the rest will then be taken at random, maybe 2,3,4, nights at a time.
This we have decided will give us more of a chance to seek better weather, I know we brits always moan about the weather but lets be honest if 2012 is any thing to go by it does grind you down in the end. So here's to some dry (sunny) outings.

We always book our main site in France when we leave each year. The rest of the sites are pick when we are over there.
Everything is sorted out as and when we decide to go.

Planning three weeks in France and using two or three sites, have all the site details, problem is with so much choice we cannot make up our mind which to choose.

Two weeks in France in August. I know which site I want, but they don't take bookings until January. PANIC!!!

Going back a long way, when British families used to have just 2 weeks a year in a seaside guest house, that's how they used to make bookings - despite the fact that computers hadn't been invented.
It would be such a simple improvement to many booking systems to allow forward bookings on a rolling 12 month basis - then there would be no mad scramble for availability when booking systems open.
I normally have the whole of next year, up to 140 nights, booked by the end of October - if sites won't take the booking they lose the chance of our business.

We are a campsite in Suffolk and have been taking bookings from the end of last season. All bank holidays are almost full as well as the school holidays so my advice is book early !

we booked our main holiday for 2013 halfway through our main holiday of 2012! same place for 6 years running - we all love it so much, that given the choice between France and Ulwell, the kids chose Ulwell. Can't argue with that 😉
