Prethope, Much Wenlock

We have visited this site many times, in lovely countryside, it is situated in a deep valley setting below the main road, and our only downside is we have not been able to get TV reception.

A good base for touring, with lots of interesting market towns, and good country pubs. Enjoy.

Hi

Carding Mill - National Trust isn't far away and is a good place to go walking. Arringham Park also National Trust is also good to visit. Shrewsbury is also close by - would recommend using park & ride. There are also smaller places to visit.

Hope this helps

We live locally and there's masses to do. Bridgnorth is a must- also the nearest supermarket- railway, cliff railway and excellent market on Saturday. Ludlow is good. At Craven Arms is the discovery centre that tells the geology of the area. Some very local tips- at cardingmill valley go as far as you can, over the ford, to park. (There have been some thefts from cars on the lower park, the top one is normally supervised.) If you like pie, as in pork, you can get wonderful home made ones on much wenlock market on saturdays. A good spot for walking is Haughmond hill. Off the shrewsbuy to newport road, follow signs for haughmond quarry.3 marked walks 1 mile to 4 miles through forestry land with lovely views. Also wed to sun a good snack wagon with home made cake. (No I'm not 20 !)
