Prime Minister Gordon Brown

Prime Minister Gordon Brown - U.K.

Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of the United Kingdom , as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks.

Separately, Brown angered some British Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques. Quote: 'IMMIGRANTS, NOT THE BRITISH, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture.. Since the terrorist attacks in London , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of British.'

'This culture has been developed over three thousand years of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom'

'We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society . Learn the language!'

'Most Britss believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.'

'We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us.'

'This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great British freedom,

'THE RIGHT TO LEAVE'.'

'If you aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted.'

Well, I suppose we can dream but unfortunately there isn't a politician in these once proud islands with the guts, backbone to come anywhere near uttering those words.

Correct Grimbo, I just altered it to a UK perspective to try and show how a leader of our country could earn respect from the vast majority of the population but unfortunately there isn't anyone with the guts to do it.

Agreed,

Why don't any of our politicians have the bottle to speak like this?

Agreed Robert but somehow I think if he had wanted to stay a MP in todays Tory party they would have thought processed his mind into political correctness :O(

I believe there was once a politician who would have supported those views. A certain M Thatcher, but she has been ridiculed by all the PC brigade so is not acceptable. I accept she went a bbit wonky in latter years but it was fun while it lasted.

As far as politicians are concerned today, somebody voted for them. Who is owning up???

John Howard, who made that speech obviously endeared himself to the majority of voters as at the last elections he was not only voted out of power, but also lost his parliamentary seat.

Perhaps Gordon Brown should repeat the speech now.

John Howard was in the same position as John Major in 1997.The economy was doing great but the population were tired of the same lot being in power and voted for change. Whether they all think it was such a good idea in afew year's time will remain to be seen. Of course by then t is usually too late (thank goodness says G Brown)

I have just logged on to this forum after making myself a whisky and orange. Now as I have only taken two sips it is not the alcohol working but I am sure there was a similar post to this on the forum yesterday and I asked out of curiosity how many caravanners were of an ethnic race and were there any contributors to this forum of a similar race/religion. This topic appears on my screen to have gone missing. I was only asking out of curiosity and not intending to create problems - any idea what happened to the posting?

Well it's like this Colyn ap Brydgynd.

I posted this speech from John Howard, only I altered it sarcastically, from a U.K. perspective saying theres no person in politics who would have the guts to make such a speech.

Afterwards JTS posted a thread which was more or less the same only saying it was from Howard.

I did see the thread and I also saw your reply but where it is now I don't know. I just had a quick look but it seems to have vanished :O)

Hi there

If you go to any other country you have to accept there rules and reg,s or you find your self behind bars WHY NOT HERE ?

I think we could do with another OLIVER CROMWELL to put the policians back on track.

Or Baroness Margaret Thatcher, Enoch Powell or Sir Winston Churchill. I also liked a Labour leader who unfortunately did not make prime minister - the late John Smith - I think he would have made a damn fine leader as Prime Minister.

Agreed colin re John Smith, Enoch Powell and Churchill, but not the other. I don't want to start a range war, imo, she was the ruination of this country. She had some good points, but sadly, it was the greed which came to the fore.

Mrs Thatcher and her Government had some excellent policies and her first term of office was brilliant - the trade unions did need curbing, but unfortunately it went too far and management became overbearing - there was not a happy medium. Towards the end of her leadership she did become more dictitorial and demanding though. Since her term as Prime Minister no one can even claim to match her overall performance as Leader and this lot are a mockery of the British Parliamentary system and should be voted out of office a.s.a.p.

The best policy Mrs Thatcher came out with, as far as the tories were concerned, was giving council house tenants the right to buy their council home. Once they signed on that dotted line for their mortgage they lost their rights to fight or take industrial action for better wages. If they failed to keep up with their mortgage they were out on their ass mumbling. :O)

Unfortunately no politician seeking power is going to make any statement like this one.

The reason being is that the people being targeted, although in a minority will all vote together to make sure that their status quo is not affected. Whereas the majority who agree with the general principle will all vote against each other on the usual party grounds.

Very true.
