Practical Caravan magazine have tested a towing cover and they liked it

I'd like one but Herself has veto'd the idea because she said that I spend more money on the caravan than I do on her

Been towing for over 20 years and not needed one of these yet, only dents and chips have been to the side of the van which these wouldnt have given any protection. Dont fit anything to the front of the car so why would I want to fit this to the caravan? Mud flaps on the car and as already said never had a problem.

I have a protech towing cover and used it twice once for the UK and once on a 2,000 mile trip through Europe
First let me say no problem regarding lights as you can see them through the cover.

However I will not be using mine again every time I return from a trip on the corners of the caravan both sides where the main cover meets the side covers there are black marks or circles and it take me hours to clean them off.
I have tried different combinations the cover is tight and does not move the straps are stowed away on the outside so its not coming from them.
All in all it was an expensive bit of kit which I would not recommend (How practical Caravan can give it a good write up I am not sure because I would not)

Why not fit some efficient mudflaps to the towing vehicle?

I've never had any problems other than some tar from a new laid road.
