Proud to be a parent

Just want to shout this from the tree tops, my young lad (well he's 26 now) is taking part in a sponsored cycle ride with two others, starting at the end of next week.
He's cycling from John O Groats to Lands End in aid of Cystic Fibrosis.
Makes you feel you have done something right in life at last. Good luck son.

Hope he does well Kev, no doubt you'll be standing by at the end with the massage oil for his sore bum and legs

Now who else would think of massaging a young athletic male bum and legs - I rest my case.

Good luck to your son and his friends - just hope all goes well and that they raise plenty of money for Cystic Fibrosis. This health problem is quite close to home for us as the eldest daughter of my daughter's future sister in law suffers from this and she is only 16. Some days are very bad for her but she manages to keep happy and tries her best to not miss school - just started the second year in the 6th. form. She is also hoping to be bride's maid in my daughter's forthcoming wedding in October.

Thanks all for your kind words of support.

Now Sue-----------------yes we will be there at the end, but It will be his mum with the massage oil and I will Provide his pint of cider.

Colin, son chose this paticular charity as he had a work collegue who's son suffers the same, although they dont work together now they have always kept in contact. Hope the young lady has a wonderful day as the bridesmaid and you will have a great day as the proud dad.
Thankyou all.

Gagakev - thank you for your kind words. We just hope that Alice will be well for the day. What hurts me is the thought that all her young friends are fit and healthy enjoying life and she is on some occassions laid up suffering. What makes it worse is that she is a pretty 16 year old and very good at her school work - she is aiming to go to universaty to study law. Life on times can be very cruel.

Just a quick update, (been away for 6 days) they started on Saturday, average of 82 miles a day, 10 miles of Scotland left,
arrive Lands End this coming Wednesday.
Again thanks all, for your kind words
Kev

Off to meet the lads tomorrow, just going to pop down to Lands End

They are currently in Wadebridge with just 77 miles to go, and hoping to reach there final destination
between 3-00pm and 4-00pm.
OH, Daughter and grandson will be joining me on this epic venture.
thanks for reading and all your goodluck messages.
Kev
