Putts Corner Devon

Has anyone tried this site?

I've booked it for the Whitsun break 5 nights. We had very little choice left booking with CC.Our main criterea was a local pub in walking distance, and plenty to visit out and about in the car, the site seems to fit the bill.

Hi.

Have stayed at Putts Corner several times as sidmouth is my home town. the site is fine, quite high up so can get misty and then you drive a couple of miles down towards Sidmouth and it is clear.

There are a couple of duff pitches near the walk through to the pub but apart from this they are all ok. i have not eat at the pub but it is always busy.

We stayed there for a week during last years monsoons.

As it happens we chose one of the pitches next to the walk to the pub as it was very spacious, not overlooked, and right at the very top of the site so less likely to flood. The wardens stopped anyone coming after we arrived as it had pitches underwater.

You have to get in the car to get anything, but the pub serves decent beer (it would get a `good` rating, but these southerners can`t pull a pint with a head and its flat before it hits the glass), and the carvery is absolutely first class!

Also, there is a really excellent nursery in Ottery-St-Mary which is large, well stocked, and has a good cafe/restaurant serving a good selection of meals and a huge cream tea.

Hi

We stayed there last Easter & loved it. The Weather was fantasic if you remember?

The site is really nice too. There is a pub that does really good meals with in walking distance of the site. In fact there is a path from the site directly to it. There are 2 play areas that are great for kids but get a bit noisy so if you don't have children you may wish to pitch away. Really good woodland dog walk. Lost of places with in easy reach with a short car journey. The tiny village of Beer was lovely. Take a walk along the costal path then drop down & enjoy a well earned Beer in Beer 🙂

Almost forgot, there is Tesco with Petrol about 10 mins away. Would return to site. Hope you enjoy it

we stayed at this site two years ago, when we arrived we asked if we could have a hard standing pitch, but they were for motorhomes, we have a twin axel, they did put us on a bigger pitch which they have for the bogger tourers, but they were on a slope which meant that we had to reverse the wheels on chocks, which was a bit of a pain, but overall very nice and quiet site where we were, round by the play area was loud, there is a walk through the site to a lovely pub at the top of the road it does a fantastic carvey do recommend you try it, we are going again for the end of may bank holiday.
