Hi Been trying to fit the extension brackets for the spare wheel carrier to the chassis on my GT60 620-6 after having had the Pwrtouch mover fitted. Problem is the Pwrtouch instructions photo show the holes to use but there is only one hole which lines up to use. The hole on the rear point on the bracket doesn't line up with anything and I was wondering if they were specific for the 'van as the instructions said no drilling required and if this is the case then I have the wrong uns.

Anybody any ideas?

Hi,

Make sure you have the bracket up the right way, to me the strength is in the wrong place when it is the right way up.

The powrtouch site shows a good picture of where they need to line up http://www.powrwheel.com/Shop-largepic.asp?GoLarge=599&Order=&Qty=&Colour=&Style=&Size=&DesURL=&Prid=&TNumb=&DesP=&Cash=&PL=20,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0.00,20000,0,1&De=0&St=&StID= Also I seem to remember that the near side goes on the outside of the chassis and the off side it goes on the inside of the chassis, you also need to slide the spare wheel bracket down the tubes a tad as well, this will enable enough space for the carrier to rise into position.

I was going to say....

If you look at the picture the two holes to the bracket are where the jacking bracket would mount, so this will give a good guide where on the chassis the carrier bracket fits.

I do not think they are van specific as all ALKO chassis are the same re jacking points, spare wheel carrier ect. From the picture it looks like they have used the original carrier holes to fix the plate to the van the plate only offsets the carrier

Hi Tony & Martin

Thanks for the help... I checked it out today as I travelled near a dealer. The fitter said the bracket lines up with the larger vertical elipse hole at the rear as there isn't a small hole at the rear end below the larger hole as shown on the Powrtouch fitting instructions.. Good job I didn't get the drill out. As Martin said the Powrtouch website instructions photo's are clearer than the ones that come in the kit.

thanks for your help

Guys can confirm today Powrtouch contacted me via phone and are modifying their instructions as they've had a couple of queries regarding this topic. Fair do's to Powrtouch for customer service
