Pyramid awnings - any good?

We're after a full size awning for our t/a van and have been amazed at the low advertised prices for these awnings compared to Isabella, Bradcot etc. Obviously there will be a difference in quality, but how great a difference and do they fade or fall apart after a year or so?

Anyone had any experience of Pyramid, please?

Dave, Dee, How's Dozzy, Mick and Tich.

This is a clear case of 'you get what you pay for'. If you have a small budget, the pyramid will certainly do the job but it's no Rolls Royce.

We bought a Pyramid Corsican last year, used it for at least 5 weeks over the year, Gales at Easter. I'm sure it will last at least 5 seasons.

Only problem we experienced was puddling on the roof.

I pleased with the purchase at

We bought a Pyramid awning. Delivery was super speedy. Haven't put it up yet apart from a bit of a go on our driveway. Seemed to have more poles than in the instructions which were not very helpful. Still better than having too few poles. Wait for Colin (brigend)to post. He thinks they are rubbish.

Perhaps Colin's loaded and can afford an Isabella :0)

We had the same confusion with the poles, the diagram supplied was actually wrong.

The second time I put the Awning up we found the correct diagram sewn into one of the end panels, How we laughed, well spat blood actually. Worth taking a look.

Rob

P.S - Sorry Beaky.

Mel - how right you are - one outing and the thing was thrown - to start with we had aluminium poles and ended up with 14 poles over. Took 3 b****y hours to fathom it out and within a day or two it looked a load of rubbish. Sagged, leaked, and curtains so long they dragged in the ground. The pole attachments at the caravan end kept slipping and were virtually on the vertical part of the awning instead of being central to the roof. Three caravanners and myself tried on numerous occassions to correct it but failed. We can't afford an Isobella but have settled now for a Dorema and so far OK. Best value for money awning we ever had was a Harrison awning - we could not find a local dealer for Harrison when we bought the new van so settled for the Dorema.

Hi i had the pyramid orion awning for three years and found it great value for money and the extra room was a godsend the only problem i found was sites having a set space for your caravan and awning at 3metres the orion was to wide but everything else inc the erecting instructions were fine, in fact when i upgraded my caravan last year i bought the Corsican awning with built in windbreakers find it superb i had it erected for 8 weeks in a row and all i done in that time was check the tension on the frame but all in all a very good awning (especially the price)

We are on our second Pyramid awning and no problems up to now, other than the incorrect poles that is, though the correct ones were delivered the following day by courier. So in our opinion good value for money.

Thanks for your comments so far folks - keep them coming if you like.

Colin - not too impressed then eh. But seriously how far away from the Dorema in quality would you say the Pyramid is, bearing in mind the substantial difference in price?

Dave.
