We inherited an almost brand new 2006 1045cm Pyramid Tuscany awning with our caravan.

Awful. Absolutely awful! Bags everywhere, and just will not go up without huge pockets which accumulate rainwater like nothing we've ever seen. We've had several people (all experienced caravanners like ourselves, try to make sense of it, without any success.

The poles go together with little spring clips, which are so hard to push in that you need metal fingers. The most stupid things we've ever come across.

We are saving for an NR awning as we've never had any trouble with them. By comparison, the NR knocks spots of the Pyramid.

My overall opinion of this 'thing' is that it's a very cheap, badly made awning, and we would certainly NOT consider buying any other Pyramid products for this reason.

I have been using the Pyramid Tuscany awning for the last 3 years goes up with ease the poles are no issue nor is the awning great value for money used in all weather conditions winter and summer no issues at all!

Its down to personal preference and cost at the end of the day.

We bought ours off ebay, first time we tried to put it up, it just didn't look right. But since then we have used it twice more, and looks alot better! cannot think what i did wrong first time. maybe i didn't pull the sides out correctly?

Now it goes up a treat and is good value for money.....

Hi,

Over the years we've had various makes of awnings. The current one is a Pyramid tuscanny. It's true what they say'you get what you pay for'.These awnings are at the cheap end of the market( we couldn't afford an expensive one as we had just changed vans, hence the need for another awning) however we have used it about 4 times and I must say that we are pleased with it.

The only criticism is that the caravan skirt is flimsy and it does suffer from condensation (not a problem for us).

Hope this helps

What size awning do ya need? I got a burgundy tuscany tuscany for sale. Think it's a size 12 910cm to 935-ish? Only used it once and found it to be too much hassle for weekend stays just to throw bikes in therefore bought a porch awning.

Just 1 tuscany would have done.

We bought a Pyramid Corsican this year from http://www.frontier-leisure.co.uk. At the time they supplied the best price I could find. Mine is on an 7.9m Caravan so I had the alloy poles to reduce the weight.

We bought if for the same reasons as you, spent all the cash on a new Van and had to keep the price down on the Awning. I didn't buy it as a status symbol.

I agree with some comments above, you can't get away from the fact that it is low quality, but at a very low price.

I've had trouble with puddling on the roof and had to rig up my veranda and front canopy poles to stop it.

It's served it's purpose this year for a total of 4 - 5 weeks and I see no reason why it shouldn't stay looking ok for lots more seasons yet.

'It does what it says on the tin', but it aint a Rolls Royce,

We also bought a Corsican this year after spending all our money on our new van.

Its 1050cm so is quite large, I found it to be of great quality considering how much we paid for it.

It did puddle once on the roof but with a little movement of the poles it soon cured the problems.

Will see this year how good it is when we leave it up a month at a time.
