Quick and Easy Wheel Clamp?

Quick wheel clamp
Can anyone recommend a quick and easy and reasonably priced wheel clamp?
Something I could use when parking up in motorway services especially on the Continent.
I have a Centurian Sold Secure clamp but it takes ages to put on and take off and that isn't easy.

If it's quick and easy for you to put on then it's propably just as quick and easy for somebody else to take off.

I have an AlKo wheel lock which I now find very quick to put on, PROVIDED the wheel is in the correct position to get the lock on.

I use a Bulldog QD 44 which is in three parts and fits into the front locker. But always with the Alko secure conformal hitch lock to the car as well. To be honest though we dont tend to leave the van when in service areas we go one by one if you get my drift. Not so much that the van may get stolen but the stuff inside might. Same drill when overseas too.

I have 2 bulldog em500SS wheelclamps and a alko hitch lock which is pretty easy but are heavy to handle

I woould suggest the Milenco compact as light enough, easily fixed and reasonably strong as probably the best bet. Most lighweight clamps should work in a public place like a services as thieves do not want to be seen removing it, they are just looking for something they can take with no effort. Towing an unsecured caravan away will attract little attention but cutting off a wheel clamp could.

Like others I would try to avoid leaving the outfit in any service area, but if you have to what about a chain ? A Sold Secure chain and lock take up very little space - mine came in a strong but small plastic box, and its quite quick to put on - you only need to thread the end through the wheel and put the lock on. I can't see even the most brazen thief taking an angle grinder to it in a public place, but I could imagine getting in through a window on the blind side.

Unless your insurance requires you to fit a wheel clamp why bother on the Continent? We Continentals are always amused when UK outfits turn up and the first thing they do is fit a whole array of security devices. Caravan thefts are almost unheard of over here and I don't do any more than lock the door, regardless of where the caravan is standing and for how long.

Unfortuneately some UK insurance companies insist that when ever the caravan is left unattended some security devices must be fitted. If there not fitted the van insurance (theft of or from) is invalididated.
