If the radio in the caravan has Bluetooth, even if it is not a DAB radio, is it possible using your Smartphone to be able to play any DAB station i.e. Greatest Hits, UK Gold etc through the radio?

Yes, you can. I play Greatest Hits Radio etc. from an app on my smartphone called Radio Player. Just pair your phone with the radio in the caravan and it will play.
Out of interest, I wonder how many like me have abandoned Radio 2 in favour of stations such as Greatest Hits Radio which now has many of my favourite ex-Radio 2 presenters?

I tend to use the commercial DAB channels Smooth, Gold, Greatest Hits etc. Too much chat on BBC 2.

Thanks. Same with us we used to be Radio fans except at 12pm when we switched to another channel for obvious reasons. LOL Now listen to Pop quiz on Greatest Hits and UK Gold as our favourite stations. 👍😀

Definitely. We just Bluetooth the phone to the smart speaker, Better sound quality, and you can take it in the awning.

Caravan radios have been superfluous for us for many years.

Please. There is a volume control. I feel that is a tad insulting.

In fact, it is far better than using the caravan speakers and turning them up so you can hear in the awning as some do.

Why would you consider that a smart speaker would be loud? That is completely down to the operator

I always consider those around me.

Not meant to be insulting at all, more as a reminder to others to think about it.

But many people do tend to forget that there is zero sound insulation in an awning.
I find motorhome users to be the "worst" offenders when it comes to noise as their speakers tend to be in the front door cards, so the whole door acts like a boom box and they wind the volume up so they can here it whilst sitting at the very back of their vehicle.

If sitting in the awning we use our Bose speaker connected to the Smartphone to listen to music in the background. We make sure it cannot be heard beyond the awning area. OH still has very sharp ears. 😀

We also like virgin radio but we turn the volume down not to disturb other caravaners
