Raising caravan step

Now there may be a simple solution I haven't thought of, but is there a simple way to raise your caravan steps? We have the two step ones with a handle on the side to hold onto (since I became older !) Normally this is fine but if we are on sloping ground it can make it a big step down to the first step. We are off to a site where we know this will be the case. Wood of course, covered with a piece of carpet to stop the steps slipping, but a large lump of wood is heavy to cart around

Hi Pinto, having just purchased a similar, set of steps, ( Ah hem, for our older friends to get into the van ), maybe four smaller blocks of wood with Holes drilled, so the feet of the steps can sit in them, not quit so heavy as a full block.
A thought.
