Hello Terry,
If asking for tips means what length, then using a long length of string, measure from the ground at one end of the van, up and along through the awning rail and back down to the ground at the other end.
This will give the length of awning you require.

If you want a porch awning rather than a full one I believe NR Awnings still make porches in 3 different heights. I had a low one on a 1993 Lunar Clubman.

Hi Terry,
we have a 1991 Elddis Whirlwind XL and have just purchased an awning from Outdoor Trail, called a 260 XL...its basically a curved wide porch style awning that curves inwards to the van roof and has the easy erect fibreglass poles/frame and weve also added the inner sleep tent...The awning has roll up front panels and doors to front and ends, clear windows etc.....Dont know if its the type of thing your after but check them out at Towsure website or on e-bay under the heading 60XL Porch Awning...They also do a bigger one, i think its called a n XL390.....Were selling our Salou awning with extra zip on annex and inner tent size 750 as its way too big for our needs..An excellent awning and like new due to little use but for two of us we dont need the size...Good luck and i hope the info may help...
