Rear alloy panel corrosion on Swift

We have recently imported a Swift Silhouette 1997, 2 berth into NZ and note that it has a strip of corrosion on the rear right hand panel(outside bathroom). It has been eaten from inside out. Has anyone else had these issues and know what causes it and any remedies.

Thanks

the corrosion is being caused, or has been caused, from water ingress (damp) from inside the caravan. probably a corner mould has been letting water in. you need to make sure that the water ingress has been cured first before anything else is done and there is no more water in the internal framework. once that has been sorted the external panel problem can be attended to. in my experience the only way around a corroded panel is to fit a new panel.

Thanks for your reply. We live in small town in New Zealand where there are no caravan repairers, or parts! So we may have to go for a reseal and repair job.
