Hi everyone we are embarking on a new caravan in the next 2 months and would like some recommendations of good service and reasonable priced insurers if possible
Ours is insured with Ripe, underwritten by Aviva.
Caravan Guard is a popular one plus either of the Clubs if you're a member.
Pays your money and takes your choice, non of them are really your Thanks
thank youCaravan Guard for us. Do read the small print to make sure you know what your getting, and more importantly what's excluded.
please excuse my ignorance when you sayYou could check with Trustpilot
Note neither of the two Clubs feature. Why? Because you have to be a Member.
Caravan Guard were voted best Insurer for handling Claims last year, again the Clubs were excluded.
I had a large claim with CAMC last year and it was very professionally and happily dealt with.
As said by others do read and understand all the terms and conditions, particularly on storage and security.
To join one of the two Clubs Insurance scheme you must be a member of that Club. The insurance covers are not open to the general public on the open marketplease excuse my ignorance when you say
Note neither of the two Clubs feature. Why? Because you have to be a Member. in what context are you referring to please? sorry if i sound dull
oh i get you, thanks for thatTo join one of the two Clubs Insurance scheme you must be a member of that Club. The insurance covers are not open to the general public on the open market
I've done that for years - the extra premium on home insurance is much lower than the savings on the caravan insurance so saves money - and gives better cover in the sense it covers things while you're away from the caravan, eg in the car.Per goods away from the caravan? Many of the sort of thing you take with you can be and often are covered by the All Risks section of your home contents insurance. Take a look.
Caravan Club do have a good record on dealing with claims. I think Dusty had a claim paid out last year all without fuss. But agree with you even before I sold the van in 2022 their prices and CCC were at the high end and rising.I have swopped between C&MHC and the CCC, for the last 15 years, but they have just got too expensive, so have gone to Caravan Guard, save £70 .
Only ever had one claim 12 years ago with Caravan Club, paid out straight away.
