reich mover

hi i am brand new to caravaning just bought a little lunar meteorite that has a reich mover on it i cant get it to work from the remote unless i plug the cable in, i have put a new battery in and tried the reset routine as described in the manual, but still nothing moves, the led is on at the remote, but wont move unless i put the cable in
thanks ,,,rob

Have you tried pairing the handset as per book?
When you push the power on button twice you should hear a relay click in, inside the electronics box.

hi,,, yes i have tried it again it clicks with the cable in,, but not when its removed i have tried the reset as in the manual but dont seem to work,,rob

As you have done all the things you can to try and get it to work, and it does with the cable in, then it would appear that the transmitter has failed and a new remote is required.

Rob, I copied these instructions from another forum some time ago - I think they are somewhat different to the book's instructions, and worth a try;
Reich; Switch On at isolator, and hold down the reset button on the control panel. With the handset Off (no light on it), press the On/Off switch on the handset 3 times in quick succession - the control box red light will flash, release the reset button on the control panel, and you're done.
If it fails, switch off the isolator switch for 2 mins and try again.

Hope this does the trick.

Mine is a very old Reich and the instructions included below had a a vital bit missing (instruction 4). I found if you were a bit slow it wouldn't synchronise.
It can also take a couple of tries.

1 ensure rollers are off the wheels
2 ensure handset is turned off
3 Turn on/off key to the on position
4 Do NOT ALLOW A DELAY OF MORE THAN 4 SECONDS when doing steps 5 - 7
5 Press small red button next to the aerial in the electrical control box.
6 WHILST KEEPING RED BUTTON PRESSED double click the on/off button on the handset to the on position, you should hear a click.
7 Click the on/off button once to turn the handset off, release pressure on the red button.
8 double click the on/off button on the handset to turn ON. You should hear a click and the red light on the handset should be on which indicates tune complete. Test with rollers away from the tyres.

hi thanks another one to try
1,,i did not have the rollors away from the tyres
2 cant find any isolation switch
try it after work ,,later ,,thanks again,,rob

The isolating switch should look like this;

(You might have to Copy & Paste).
It's usually positioned inside the battery locker, but may be under the settee. If you follow the "live" feed from the battery, you will come to it. However, you might not have one, and this may well be the case since you can still operate the rollers with the cable. If not, the power will obviously be "On", so just carry on with the next activity.

IF you have No Isolation switch try disconnecting the leisure battery for 10/15 min this may reset the control box

when i had my mover fitted it didn't have a key.
After reading posts about movers operating through some sort of interference, my dealer fitted one FOC.
Still if your battery is like mine it will have quick release clamps, just make sure the mains is off, and the caravan 12v isolated.

hi all-- thanks tried them all but still no joy, it must be the remote thats broke i have e/mailed--- reich tech line for advice, but i dont want to spend £100 or so on a new one i have seen some after market type remotes on ebay but not sure if they will work? thanks again rob

Rob, came across this, lot less than a new one!
see what you think, worth a punt i would think.
