Remis blinds - spring catch mounting glue

Seems rather remiss of Remis, else Bailey, to use ineffective glue on the little spring catch that links mesh to blind proper. Practically all fell off our new GT65 Ancona after about a year, and superglue doesn't always seem the next best fix. What do people recommend?

I have not had a problem with the little spring thingy on BaileyRemis blinds (yet).

But smugly say that I am becoming a little more familiar with rectifying some of the niggles that arise in other areas (thank you to youtube contributors), to be honest I could do without the hassle, the blinds work but are not Clyde Built (perhaps that is a good thing :p )

Ours are taking it in turns to fall off. I do like my Bailey but the finish on the bits and pieces is poor. :( Always sticking something back on. We use super glue. Seems to have done the job so far.

When I first read the OP's post I did not recognise the "the little spring catch that links mesh to blind proper" .

Now I am beginning to realise that it is likely the (grey coloured on mine) plastic retainer that has "REMIS" embossed into the face.

Actually, one of mine became detached a couple of weeks ago, Mrs Anseo had been 'pulling' the blinds apart, not realising that a very gentle finger depress of the catch releases the lock.

If the plastic lugs on the catch are not broken then the catch should not come adrift or require any adhesives to secure it in place.

Anyway, a simple push fit to relocate and secure the item, I think they work rather well and should give long service.

Like a lot of things on caravans, if something does not operate easily it may be the case that we simply do not know the correct method of operation, as I find out all too frequently  .

Now then Sir Haggis, I am wise to your diplomatic words and helpful tone. My dearest OH said much the same, but in fewer words. "You must have pressed it too hard". Not what he said when the catch fell off in his hand.

Made me :) Lady Mel

Mrs Anseo simply handed me the catch saying "this just fell off".
