Remitop rooflight string snapped

Can anyone advise me if it is easy (or not!) to repair a Remitop Tilt & Slide Rooflight when the string inside has snapped? We have an Avondale Dart 380/2 (2007. Failing that can anyone recommend a suitable replacement and stockist?
 
In case anyone has a similar problem we got 'brave' in the end and found the screws connecting the whole unit to the roof (covered by plastic covers). We could then look into the unit and managed to re-tie the string back onto the screw that it had come off - job done!!
