Hi,

Just joined the forum, been 'lurking' for a few days, looks a good site! I caravan with my dogs and have an Elddis Wisp which I tow with a Ford Focus Estate.

I am thinking of buying a Remoska to take away with me and wondered what other people on here think of them?

Thanks- the only one I could see is the guy enquiring about the Bravoska, which is similar but a bit cheaper.
 
Hi fairyvan. the remoska is just a non stick pan on a metal stand with a low wattage element in the lid. we love ours and use for a lot of things including roast chicken. We cook lamb chops and potatoes at the same time in it. We use it on the work top at home but the bottom is only about 35mm from the surface so we use it on a board in the caravan

Thanks Colin. I have been looking at it on the Lakeland site, and was interested to know if people were finding it a useful cooker in caravans. Thats a good tip about putting it on a board in the caravan.
 
Though a bit expensive, it is a fantastic bit of kit, and extremely versatile. When we go away on hook up, we always take ours, and use it in place of the gas oven. It is ideal for two (there is a bigger one) and as well as saving expensive gas, it cooks better than the oven! Try a leg of lamb in it - best you will have tasted!!

We use ours alot, as someone said its better than the caravan oven. also low wattage so won't trip the power off!

Try doing a Pasta Bake [the one in the jar where you just add pasta and water the cheese] dead easy & quicker due to no warm-up time.

Doesn't need watching like a pan either!

Quite light for those who have to watch thier weights our medium one is under 3Kgs.

I first read about the Remoska some months ago on a forum (might have been this one) so checked out its website here http://www.hoorayforhomecooking.co.uk/

As a result of that we bought the Standard which is the middle size of the three.

So far we have cooked a chicken, chicken portions, toad in the hole and scones in it with fantastic results. It is just so simple to use.

We think that the Standard is just the right size to take with us in the 'van. The Baby is to small for us but we may well get the Grand Remoska for home use. Although not cheap to buy they are cheap to run.

we've got the "grand" with the optional shallow pan & use it to cook virtually everything, from breakfasts to full dinners, when away in the van, saves a fortune on gas & a dodle to clean afterwards what more could you want? well apart from another glass of wine or a cold beer!
 
Hi fairyvan, we thought when they came on the market that we would like it .the first thing we found out was what to do with the extremly hot lid whilst using most of the worktops for preperation. We have a Coachman 460/2 in case someone wonders what available space we have.So we paid about
