Removing fixed carpet

I've got a Coachman Amara 530/4 in which the carpet has faded in several places. I want to remove it and replace it with either another one, or with vinyl and get some removable carpets. Has anyone done this at all? The Van is out of warranty so no joy there! I can see that the only difficult bit would be around the fridge/kitchen area where I can't get to the fixings unless theres a way of doing this!

most carpets are put down and then furniture put down on top

only way to do it is to cut close to the wood etc

a good carpet fitter would rattle this job off no problem

i have seen good quality vinyl put down after, and it looks great(get the stuff thats warm when you step on it ie bathroom)

Unfortunately I agree with the above, carpet is cut overlarge for the central areas and then the furniture fitted on top. So you may be able to remove fixing screws in bedlosckers and pull it loose, but elsewhere you will need to cut it close to the furniture. Any carpet shop should be able to bind the edges of a new cut carpet for you (cost unknown) but you may find it easier and cheaper to get an offcut and refit a 'fitted' carpet. Best of luck!

i would be wary of putting slippery vinyl flooring with carpet on top because it moves and slips and slides.we have a new swift conqueror with this combination and found it dangerous.i put the drop in carpet in my shed to store it and bought some gel backed carprt and cut it to shape of drop in carpet.put it in caravan and it doesnt move now.

just vinyl on its own no carpet on top

We bougt soem carpet off the roll from carpet right and fitted it on top of the existng carpet. Works a treat an keeps the caravan warmer in the winter and does not slide around.
