Renovate / Update a bathroom

Hi all,
After some advice we want to update / repair the bathroom area on a 1997 Jubilee Herald and have a few questions:
1. Where do we get new wallpaper from?
2. How do we strip the old out and replace any panels if necessary (ie after removing existing furniture where do we begin)?
3. The joins between panels at present are covered by a rubber strip where do we get that from or is there a better way of doing it?

I dont really know exactly what you are trying to achieve here or the reasons for doing it other than tidying things up a bit, what is exactly wrong with it as it is?? sorry for being a bit vauge but without a bit more info it is like finding something in the dark without a torch.
do you want to completely refubish it or do a repair because of damp or somethings worn out?? or just to change things round a bit.
just to give you some idea, I rebuilt a motor home from scratch after completely gutting it and starting afresh however as there was no weight issues all the funiture was hand built from cedar and while it was possible to move things round a bit certain bits of kit had to go back in the same place like the loo and fridge due to the rather big holes in the side of the van so bear this in mind.
also the shower room can be made more practical by glueing waterproof laminate sheets to the existing walls and sealing with silicon in my case I also turned the washroom in to a wetroom by tileing the floor with ceramic mosaic tiles and doing away with the useless 2ft square shower curtain.

Main reasons for doing it are a face lift and the rubber strip that is between the edges of the existing panels has perished and i think some damp has got in to the walls.

So we thought why not get it out and start a fresh with a more practical and usable bathroom area. DIY is not a problem just unsure of where to start.

I'd start with a profesional damp test to ascertain the extent of any damp penetration. There are plenty of good mobile experts out there including our own Mr Mod Damien. Has the damp come from the shower or a failed external seal?

Then the skys the limit. I lined part of our shower unit with a plastic laminate from Amari plastics, and they cut to size.

The damp is internal from the shower as the rubber seal has perished / deformed between the panels in the shower cubicle.

First thing to establish is, as has been said, is the true extent of the problem.

If the wall you have problems with is at 90 degrees to the van side, it forms part of the structural integrity of the van and great care must be taken if removing it, and even more so replacing it to get it right.

The cover strip is a problem in ensuring a really good seal as it is flexible so try and have the minimum number of joins and use a flexible sealer such as Soudall Fixall, but NOT the run of the mill B&Q silicone.

i would leave it all in if its ok and dry and cover over the top and reseal all joints why not try a paint for special surfaces esp ect any diy store has them you can also get a textured plasticoate.

Thanks for all the advice, think I will use the neken tiles and re do the walls in them after thoroughly drying the wall / seam. I have access to dessicant so shouldn't be too much of an issue providing damp not too bad.

I will do a thorough investigation prior to any re-covering and eliminate any bad damp.

take into account the move ment as you go down the road and any bumps tiles if fixed with non flex bond may become loose or unsealed.

there is a tile affect foam paper on a roll that may be worth a look it water proof and flexy from any diy store.
